Welcome IMPEC 2026 Information Cultures, Media Pedagogies, and Screen-Based Interactions The sixth edition of the IMPEC conference is entitled Imformation Cultures, Media Pedagogies, and Screen-Based Interactions.It is organized by the IMPEC research group together with the Médias, Images & Technologies team at ICP, and will be hosted by the UR RCS (EA7403) at the Institut Catholique de Paris, from July 1 to 3, 2026. The conference aims to explore contemporary dynamics of information in a context marked by the proliferation of connected devices and by profound transformations in digital communication practices. Presentations will analyze practices, representations, and issues related to mediated interactions—whether individual or collective, professional or personal. In doing so, the event seeks to foster critical reflection on the transformations of the public sphere, emerging forms of sociability, and contemporary reconfigurations of knowledge. In an interdisciplinary perspective, this call for papers is addressed to scholars working on these issues from the viewpoints of information and communication sciences, sociology, and linguistics, as well as political science, philosophy, psychology, and education sciences. This edition of IMPEC also seeks to foster dialogue between social media researchers and media theorists on the one hand, and, on the other, the reflections and experiences of professionals in information and journalism, together with actors engaged in pedagogical initiatives or technological innovations who develop tools for monitoring, media and image analysis, or fact-checking.
